The Muleshoe Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is a department within the City of Muleshoe designed to provide a range of business and economic development assistance, including financial and non-financial assistance, based upon business' needs. The MEDC is governed by a seven-member board. Board members are appointed by the City of Muleshoe City Council and serve a two-year term. The MEDC works collaboratively with other departments of the City of Muleshoe and with the Muleshoe Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture.
The MEDC is committed to the promotion of high quality development in the Muleshoe Area and to an ongoing improvement in the quality of life for its citizens.

Three words that describe the attitude of the MEDC. The MEDC promotes quality development of the West Texas region and is always searching for ways to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Muleshoe and the surrounding area.
Formed in 1993, the MEDC has assisted in the creation and expansion of several businesses including Eevolve Enterprises, L&L Pallet, T&S Concrete, Leal's Tortilla Factory, and several dairies. MEDC offers incentives to businesses based upon job creation and/or retention and an increase in tax base.
